This version of the Gut Screening adds to the standard investigations - verification, counting and evaluation of the protective bacterial flora (bifidia, lactobacilli, etc.) presence and measurement of the pathogenic flora - the measurement of faecal Zonulin and Secretory IgA. It is particularly suitable for providing indications on the state of health of the intestinal mucous membranes, the integrity of the membrane and the functionality of the mucosal Immune System.
Who is GUT PERMEABILITY recommended for?
This test is particularly indicated in the presence or if pathologies such as:
- IBS – Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- IBD – infectious intestinal diseases (such as Chron's disease, ulcerative colitis, etc.)
- Celiac disease
- Malabsorption
and in case of chronic inflammatory diseases.
It is also advisable to additionally perform single tests such as Calprotectin, Lactoferrin and Histamine, for a complete picture of intestinal inflammation as well.
